How to make sure I will do something (New Challenge!)

Hi folks! As it happens, I’m just back from my dragonboat team’s training camp. Had a blast! I’ll let you see some pics/videos soon.

Piers McCarney

Piers, A.K.A. The Clown

One of the badass guys part of the Gym Movement, Piers McCarney, challenged me to match and/or better his blog posts, in quality and regularity. Hah! The clown.

(Yes indeed, he’s a clown. Look at that photo!)

Piers is an Australian (Aussie mate yadda yadda!) training and nutrition enthusiast, member of the Gym Movement community. What does GM mean? I guess the bigger perk is that, like myself and many others, he makes new PRs (personal records) every time he trains. I’ll be talking more about that in the near future.

He’s also a thinker (I think?) and all around fooling-around kinda guy (just look how he dresses at parties!)

Here’s some of the stuff he did lately, for Adam T Glass’s Grip Decathlon :

Now on to the challenge.

Mat, I challenge you to match or better me, post for post, guest post for guest post, for 3 months beginning the date of your choosing.
We both need motivation to get inertia rolling, right? Lemme know if you’re up for it!
– Piers McCarney

So really, who was I to refuse? I knew I needed a kickstart to get this blog running again, and accountability is one of the key elements I think I was missing. This is a great opportunity. Moreover, it’s a challenge.

Plus, I couldn’t let him beat me. I mean, really! pff.

Friendly Competition.

Friendly Competition.

He thinks he’s so clever with his KFC Debates and Star Wars humor. And his grip competitions. And Movement articles. Oh, and 2-3 or so guest posts coming up soon. …yea ok, maybe I got some work to do.

The date of my choosing is May 16th, 2011. Yup, I’m already 1 day late. I chose a suboptimal date; I forgot how a training camp leaves you with too much housekeeping / foodmaking to do and little energy for anything else. That said, the training camp will be one of my upcoming topics also.

So, how can you make sure I will do something? Dare me to do it, of course. How can you make sure I will feel a sudden urge to do it now? Challenge me to beat you, or include some form of competition. Oooh yea. Now you got me.

My challenger is already a step ahead. How long will it last?

Stay tuned…

Mate, be careful. I’ve got so many irons in the fire it just looks like a pile of hot iron.

I hope no one else has ever said that before, cause I’m damn proud of it. ;-)

04/06/11 and the count stands at 5 and a guest post versus 3 and no guest post I know of!

You’ve only got 2 and a half more months to catch up!I expect a flood of posts off your newly resurrected Macbook. ;)
