Weekly Progress Report: 2012-08-02

Challenge #6: Straddle Press to Handstand

Recently it’s all been about push-ups. This morning I realized how actually easy it feels to do something that was impossible for me not even months ago.

On the standard Handstand push-up, I’ve raised my max reps.

I also progressed in my intensity PR, going as far as ~2 inches below hand level.

Challenge #8: Iron Cross

Moar progress on the bar muscle-up! My max deload is now reduced to 25 lbs.

It was surprisingly easy. Someone on youtube even told me he thought I had the strength to do a bodyweight muscle-up, given I tried simple technical additions to my movement. I tried them, but it didn’t work. I will probably try it again just in case I encounter a better day, but otherwise I will simply continue working with the deloading bands, until I get to -0 deload. It shall be soon, I feel it!

When that happens, I will devise a plan to work regularly with actual gym rings.

Challenge #16: The Parkour Combo

In July I have been much more regular at my Parkour practice than I was in June. This is a good thing. I can see obvious progress at every session.

I am also getting better at trying out things that scare me.

This weekend, I will participate in the Annual Canadian Summer meet in Toronto, ON! Can’t wait to meet all the people there. It’ll also be my first time visiting downtown Toronto! If you wanna go too, let me know so we can hook up!

I’m going there with the girl, who’s gonna give a try to all this craziness. Stay tuned.
