Challenge #6: Straddle Press to Handstand

Here’s a look at my first attempts at an actual Press to Handstand, from the Frog Stand!

So obviously, the first thing to improve here is alignment; I should probably go deeper into the Frog Stand Hold before pressing up.

That said, hand balance is getting easier to set into… I can now do 5+ second holds more often and with ease.

Also, to be able to start in the straddle press position, I’ll need to develop more specific strength to hold my hips flexed, and along with the Front Lever progressions I’ve been working on, I’ve started putting more focus on being able to do the L-Sit in a better and easier fashion. This is where I’m at right now.

Still a ways to go. With specific training I’m pretty sure I will surprise myself.

Challenge #8: Iron Cross

I’ve been working with rings quite regularly lately. Just holding up on the rings is something that needs specific works, as it challenges many stabilizers.
